Quite a few common procedures. Extractions, implant placement, bone grafting, and wisdom tooth removal are all oral surgery, along with reshaping bone in some cases.
It depends on the dentist. Some refer surgery out; others, like our office, do a lot of it in house. We will be straight with you about whether we are the right place for your procedure.
It depends on the surgery, and we will give you specifics. For a typical extraction or implant, that often means avoiding smoking and alcohol the night before and following any instructions we provide.
From local anesthetic to laughing gas to deeper sedation, depending on how anxious you are and how involved the surgery is. We have a separate sedation page that goes into detail.
If you only had a local shot or laughing gas, usually yes. With oral or IV sedation you will need someone to drive you.
For a routine extraction or implant, the first three days are usually the most noticeable, then it improves steadily. We will give you a pain-management plan to stay ahead of any discomfort.
